MEETING OF THE TRILATERAL (US, EUROPE, AND JAPAN). VIENNA, 20 OCTOBER 2026
Last 20th of October Mr. Luis Alfonso Durán, managing partner of the firm and president of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Spanish Industry Association (CEOE), participated as a member of the BusinessEurope delegation at the annual meeting of the Trilateral, where Members of industry met with the directors of the most important Patent offices in the world (US, European Patent Office, and Japan).
At that meeting they discussed topics of great interest for the future development of the patent system in the United States, Europe, and Japan, among others they were discussed:
• the study of a system for a global recordal of patent assignments (Global Assignment),
• the improvement of the examination of patents by the Offices in connection with quality, speed, and efficiency,
• the cooperation of the three Offices in connection with the use of artificial intelligence in the prosecution of patents.
