Luis-Alfonso Durán

Luis-Alfonso Durán has a Msc in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a diploma in Spanish and European Patents from the University of Barcelona and a diploma in Patent Litigation in Europe from the International Center for Intellectual Property Studios (CEIPI) of the Strasbourg University. He is a Spanish Industrial Property Attorney and a European Patent, Trade Mark and Design Attorney. He is also a certified translator-interpreter of English, a Spanish qualification awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He is currently the Managing Partner of the firm, as well as the Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of CEOE (Spanish Industry Association) and the Spanish representative of the Patent Working Group of BusinessEurope. Also, he is the President of the Spanish Section of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) as well as the Spanish alternate delegate of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI).
He has held positions of Spanish, European and international relevance within the field of Intellectual Property, such as President of the European Communities Trade Marks Association (ECTA), Vice President of the European Patent Institute (epi), Chair of the Reporting Group for the reform of the European Patent Institute (epi), Reporter General of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI),Vice President of the Official Association of Spanish Industrial Property Attorneys (COAPI) and he has the Award of Merit from AIPPI, he is a Member of Honour of AIPPI, of ECTA and of the Spanish and Portuguese Groups of AIPPI.
